In a major breakthrough, Dassault Systèmes has taken its Virtual Twin technology to new heights by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. This innovative move is expected to revolutionize the manufacturing landscape in Southeast Asia, with Thailand emerging as a key hub. The company has been serving various industries for over 40 years and has now expanded AI technology to factories, laboratories, and engineering departments.

Thailand, Dassault Systèmes' largest market in ASEAN and second-largest in Asia-Pacific after Australia, is particularly significant due to its strong government support in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area. The company has also relied heavily on local partners for its marketing strategy in Thailand, utilizing their expertise over 70%. The Virtual Twin technology achieved through AI-powered virtual companions such as Aura, Leo, and Marie will now be available to industries across Thailand.

Aura focuses on knowledge management, while Leo handles multiple engineering challenges from design to production. Marie presents deep scientific expertise based on materials science, chemistry, and various scientific formulas and medical sciences. To further enhance its presence in the region, Dassault Systèmes has launched three platforms under OKMD: AI Playground, Knowledge Portal, and Corporate.

The AI Playground features Gemini, Claude, and GPT models, making them available without cost or language barriers. The Knowledge Portal is a digital library with curated knowledge that connects to Thailand's local wisdom. The OKMD Corporate platform focuses on skill development and real-world AI applications.

Dr. Tawarat Suwattananond, OKMD Director-General, emphasized the importance of elevating cognitive infrastructure for all Thais.

SMART-ANALYSIS

This development connects to the larger trend of Industry 4.0 adoption in Southeast Asia, where governments are actively promoting digital transformation to drive economic growth. The implications are far-reaching, with industries such as manufacturing, engineering, and research benefiting from increased efficiency and productivity. This may lead to job creation and skill upgrades for Thai citizens.

Two plausible scenarios for what happens next are: 1) Thailand becomes a hub for AI-powered Virtual Twins adoption in the region, attracting foreign investment and talent; or 2) The technology is widely adopted across industries, leading to significant improvements in product quality, reduced costs, and increased competitiveness.
